African Pygmy Hedgehog[edit | edit source]
Food:[edit | edit source]
They are omnivores and eat: mealworms, bananas, cherries, crickets, berries, apples, cat food and fruits.
Exercise:[edit | edit source]
They need plenty of exercise which can be offered with a running wheel. Choose an open sided, solid surface wheel big enough to comfortably house your hedgehog. He will also need time outside of his cage to explore and run around.
Habitat:[edit | edit source]
Walls must be high enough to prevent escape, (unless you want it to! ) as hedgehogs are good climbers. A glass aquarium or smooth-sided cage is ideal. Cages with a wire bottom should be avoided because your hedgehog could easily injure a foot in the wire.
